About Us.

This is us.

This is us.

Hello. We are Kara and Sam, or Sam and Kara, but definitely not, as some Egyptians have called us, Sara.

We both study International Relations at the Australian National University in Canberra. Kara has finished her degree and Sam has finished two thirds of his. We have both moved to Jordan for 2014 to study Arabic. Kara already knows a lot of Arabic (although she is modest about how much), and Sam knows none. Like, 4 words.

Kara was always moving to Jordan, Sam was never moving to Jordan. But when Sam met Kara he fell in love. Luckily for Sam, so did Kara. So Sam moved as well. We will both return to Aus in 2015 – Kara to do her honours and Sam to finish his degree. In the meantime, we will travel around the Middle East and learn as much as we can about everything.

We are both interested in politics, culture, history, music, and are generally interested in people.

This blog will document our year: some entries will be jovial, others will be more substantial and insightful. We hope to always be entertaining and to add something to your day.

Don’t be shy – we’d love to hear from you!

xoxo

  1. Hi Sam and Kara. Have just read all your blog and it’s great reading – thanks for sharing your experiences. Happy adventuring! Love Julie and all the crew here in Bega (and nice to meet you Kara – look forward to meeting you in person in 2015).

    • Hey Julie! Nice to (sort of) meet you too, glad you like the blog, thanks for reading! We’d love to share Rhys’s antics if he has any new videos? Maybe not for a while thanks to the leg.. Hope he’s healing up!

      Speak soon,
      Kara

  2. Hi there Sam and Kara. I’m Andrea and a fellow Australian living here in Jordan – also a fellow blogger. I’m based down south at Wadi Musa/Petra so if you ever find yourself down this way give me a shout out. Always nice to hear the Australian accent. Also happy to help out with any advice about living in Jordan if you want. As they say here Ahlan wa Sahlan. Welcome to Jordan! πŸ™‚
